Rain!!  I’m so unused to it I had to shut my car windows and brought in all tools that I had left about (used for my growing list of half  finished jobs!).  I am clearing an area covered in brambles etc ....bit like the castle in sleeping beauty but instead of a princess I have found lots of old horse drawn machinery which I hope to sell at auction.  Some of this stuff I cannot identify....the two wasp nests I could! Its quite exciting., I feel like an explorer in the jungle.

Our bull escaped to visit the neighbour’s heifers.....young and interesting compared with our old cows.  Poor bull, I spoilt all his fun.  Mike’s cousin Pauline was staying and what a brilliant help she was. In fact I thought she was very brave as her day job is an Avon Area manager......how opposite to recapturing a stubborn, randy bull.  I had to apologise to a couple of the livery girls who (I am embarrassed about this) heard me calling the bull a few choice names!  Luckily they found it funny.  Pauline also helped with the haymaking and pushed the haylage bales to the edge of the trailer......with a low cut top on!  Our bale wrapper man, Mark didn’t know which way to look!! (well, he did know but we won’t go there). The owner of the field declared to me “that's a woman on that trailer”...as if I don’t count!  We all retired to the Wonkey Donkey for a pint and a pickled egg.  A lovely weekend.

All well on horse front and the hay quality is absolutely wonderful this year.  Mike and I sniff it with the same satisfaction as a wine expert with a good Beaujolais.

We still have some big bales of 2009 hay etc.  Had some interest from quite far afield.
